Morris tooks his inspiration for Brother Rabbit from the Brer Rabbit stories in Joel Chandler Harris's Uncle Remus: His Songs and Sayings . In fact, William Morris released the Brother Rabbit design on wallpaper and fabric in 1882, a little more than a year after Brer Rabbit had made his debut in the United States.

Brother Rabbit Accent tiles are available as 4.25 inch, 6-inch tiles, and 8-inch tiles.

Glossy tiles are far and away the most popular, but Brother Rabbit also looks great in a smooth satin finish, which works well if you're planning to do something the the accents and hearth tiles shown in the fireplace photo. Glossy tiles are a little reflective, where satin tiles are not. This is arguably closer to the actual Victorian glazes (but the Victorian era tiles we have now have oxidized to be more satin, so we don't really know). The De Morgan Arts & Crafts tiles at Leighton House, especially the red lustre, maintain their glossy look even after 150 years.

There are several options for border tiles, in addition to using single accent tiles as a border, Rabbits and Birds. Birds and Rabbits can be placed alternating horizontally as a single border, or one above the other, as a two-brow border. Birds are not available in 8-inch.

Facing birds, suitable for under a window ledge, are available on 4.25 inch tiles. These can be trimmed if you don't have quite that much room (see the installation photo below).
