William De Morgan Reproduction Fish tiles, four-tile-repeat
Frankly, these are just not my best fish. My best fish are the three-tile repeat William Freund De Morgan Persian Fish Frieze. And these are definitely not those. This series is based on a series that was made some 30 years ago, and sold throughout the U.S. for about a decade. At least once a year, I'm contacted for replacement tiles because the installed four-tile series tiles were damaged somehow or the person wants to extend the pattern. My Persian Fish Frieze tiles don't work with these; the color palette is different.
People always like their fish tiles, wherever they came from, and it's crazy to pull out all the perfectly good tiles to start fresh. So I made these, based on some broken tiles I received from just such a customer. They won't be a perfect match because tile color changes over time, depending on how much light and heat they've lived through.If you don't absolutely have to match an installed set, do take a look at the original Persian Fish Frieze tiles:
These tiles are seamless and allow an infinite repeat without reversing.
