William De Morgan Reproduction Fish tiles, four-tile-repeat
Frankly, these are just not my best fish. My best fish are the three-tile repeat William Freund De Morgan Persian Fish Frieze. And these are definitely not those. This series is based on a series that was made some 30 years ago, and sold throughout the U.S. for about a decade. At least once a year, I'm contacted for replacement tiles because the installed four-tile series tiles were damaged somehow or the person wants to extend the pattern. My Persian Fish Frieze tiles don't work with these; the color palette is different. People always like their fish tiles, wherever they came from, and it's crazy to pull out all the perfectly good tiles to start fresh. So I made these, based on some broken tiles I received from just such a customer. They won't be a perfect match because tile color will change over time, depending on how much light and heat they've lived through.
If you don't absolutely have to match an installed set, do take a look at the original Persian Fish Frieze tiles:
These tiles are seamless and allow an infinite repeat without reversing.
