Lewis Carroll's met with William De Morgan to select tiles for his rooms at Oxford. His fireplace incorporates a De Morgan ship triptych and was done with red lustre tiles with fantastic animals from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Mixing blue and white ships with birds and beasts is a great idea.
